Moawin Foundation (MF) believes that education is the right of all. MF’s education program focuses on the provision of support through enrolment of Out of School Children (OOSC) and considers the training of teachers imperative for the bright future of students. For this purpose, MF conducts training on basic teaching methodologies and blended learning techniques in schools through leading Institutions in Pakistan like the Ali Institute of Education. Trainings are conducted in GB in collaboration with Professional Development Centre (PCDN), and RUPANI Foundation on Early Childhood Education (ECE). MF also works for upgrading the schools, including construction/ repairing of classrooms and washrooms, installation of water filtration plants, solar panels, water tanks, etc. Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers are established, leading to the early development of children’s learning abilities. In 2021, Moawin Foundation provided infrastructure support. MF hires additional teachers in the adopted schools according to the school’s requirements. Another initiative taken by MF is the introduction of E-learning in the adopted schools through the provision of state-of-the-art computer labs. MF has signed an agreement with Sabaq Foundation and MUSE to promote e-learning in MF adopted schools at Sheikhupura and GB. Free online tutorials are also being provided in collaboration with Noon Academy to students of 2 schools in Islamabad. Moawin Foundation in collaboration with the Government of Punjab’s Vocational Training Institute (VTI) is working to enhance skill development training amongst girls and boys at Village Mahmunwali, District Sheikhupura providing income-generating opportunities to them. In this vocational center, the girls and boys are trained in trades such as motorcycle repairing, electricians, beauticians, stitching, and shoe-making. Moawin Foundation was established with a dream to serve the community, especially, the underprivileged youth of the society. The foundation aims to create opportunities for Pakistani citizens and diaspora living abroad by giving back to the country by supporting the Government Schools and Vocational Centers through public-private partnerships and contributing to bringing about improvement in the education sector. The foundation believes in providing support to the public sector schools to raise their quality of education and empower communities by helping them learn, earn and lead by imparting skills development training. Having initiated MF’s activities from District Sheikhupura in the year 2015 with the adoption of a single school, MF has successfully adopted 103 schools in Islamabad, Punjab, KP, Sindh, and Gilgit Baltistan till December 2021. The total enrollment in these schools is 27,242. The interventions of the Moawin Foundation have resulted in higher enrollment in the Out-School Children (OOSC). Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers have been established in schools in Islamabad, GB, and Sheikhupura that will lead to the early development of children’s learning abilities. In 2021, Moawin Foundation provided support for infrastructure by constructing 1 classroom in Islamabad, and 4 washrooms in Gilgit/Baltistan. Additionally, 24 washrooms were renovated in Gilgit/ Baltistan. MF has hired additional teachers in the adopted schools according to the school’s requirements.
